To qualify for EOPS/CARE, students must meet income and educational guidelines established by the State of California.

For EOPS, the student must:

1. be enrolled full-time (12 units); limited exemptions for evening students enrolled in 9 units, and
   students with a verified disability .
2. be eligible for the Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOGW) A or B (Financial Aid Office at CSM)
3. have completed fewer than 70 degree applicable units, and
4. have placed in a basic skills Math or English course or have previously enrolled in a basic skills
   Math or English course, or meet one of the alternative educational criteria identified by an EOPS
   staff member.

For CARE, the student must:

1. be eligible for EOPS Services,
2. be single, head of household and at least 18 years of age,
3. have at least one child under the age of 14, and
4. be receiving TANF (formerly AFDC) or CalWORKs
