Please check your my.smccd.edu email accounts regularly (or forward your emails to an account that you check). I will be sending emails to enrolled students over the next week with more course details.

New! Online orientation updated 8/14/2013
I have created a couple of videos to get you familiar with the format of the course and MyMathLab. This is essentially the same as what I will cover at our orientation on Monday. Each of the videos is about 15 minutes so they may take a few minutes to download.

Class Information & Supply List
Our orientation for Math 110 will be on Monday, August 19 from 5:05 to 5:55 pm in 3-142. This is one of the few opportunities for you to get your questions about the course answered in person, so please plan to attend.

For those of you who want to get a head start on your shopping, I've listed the required supplies below. Please purchase a MyMathLab access code by the first day of class. The first assignment is due Tuesday, 8/27 by 11 pm. You are free to get a jump start on the course work now! (But please keep in mind that while the first few assignments are set up, I'm still working on customizing and adding content to MML.)

  1. Access code for MyMathLab available from the Cañada College Bookstore or online at MyMathLab. All work will be done and submitted online via MyMathLab. The entire textbook is available online within MyMathLab. For those of you who want a hard copy of the text, you may buy or rent one from the bookstore.

You can buy a MyMathLab access code from the cashier at the bookstore or online from MyMathLab. You will need the course ID from the syllabus. Please note that I am still working on the course and it will become available on 8/12.

Students who were previously enrolled in Math 110, 111, or 112 at Cañada in the last year (or used Elementary and Intermediate Algebra by Jay Lehmann) and used MyMathLab do not need to purchase access again.
  2. A scientific calculator such as TI-30. If you intend to go onto Math 120 and Math 200, I highly recommend you get a TI-83 or TI-84 (not TI-89) graphing calculator.
  3. Spiral bound notebook so that you can work out examples and homework problems.
Important dates -- These are the dates that you will need to come to campus To give you an idea of the pace of the class, you can download the course calendar above. Make sure that you schedule enough time to study, learn the material, and complete the assignments. I look forward to meeting you soon.
