HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT 5

MART 420 – 3D Animation and Modeling I

Fall 2008
Thursdays 6:30-9:20 p.m.

Instructor: Paul Naas

Homework assignment #5a:

Using the SubD modeling techniques from the book and tonight's demonstration, model the surfboard from the textbook (Project 4 Lesson 22). Make it your own; change it up and make it unique. Do a stubbier version or a version with a different number of fins. Maybe there are more notches in the edges or the board itself has a different shape. Have fun with it. Keep your model as sub-D's; do not convert it to polygons.

Your surfboard is due on the date listed on the main homework page.

The naming convention for your scene file is:

MART420yourlastname_proj5.ma

Also, work through the medallion refining exercise (also in Project 4 Lesson 22) to become more familiar with SubD tools.

Homework assignment #5b:

If you have any modeling to finish on your character, this is the week to get it done.

Bring in your .ma file on the date listed on the main homework page for review.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
