The best place to buy telescopes is ScopeCity in San Francisco. Ask for Sam.

 

A really fun astro club that is partnered with CSM, is the San Mateo County Astronomical Society (SMCAS).

 

A great resource for astronomical info is Sky and Telescope.

 

Here is a site that partners professional and amateur astronomers, the Astronomical Society of the Pacific.

 

The premier, professional astronomical association, is the American Astronomical Society.

 

 

 

If you like to do work on variable stars, you must check this out. It is the American Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO).
