SKY Lot L Expansion

The project is located at Skyline College, 3300 College Drive, San Bruno, CA 94066, a campus of the San Mateo County Community College District.  Parking Lot L, at the northern end of campus, now has 110 paved parking spaces and an unpaved area with roughly 200 spaces.  This project will consolidate those areas and other parking into an expanded, paved parking area with about 500 spaces and improved, accessible pedestrian routes to the center of campus.

Project amenities include traffic calming measures along the Campus Loop Road, new and improved lighting, parking permit machines, landscaping, electric vehicle chargers, carpool parking spaces, accessible parking spaces for B19 (Pacific Heights), bicycle parking, security cameras, a habitat garden, and plantings along the north edge of campus.

A short connector drive will be installed between the Loop Road and Chilton Lane for access to the Chilton Lane parking area.  Bollards will be installed where the College’s property line crosses Chilton Lane at the north and east to ensure that college traffic does not impact the adjacent neighborhood, but they can be removed to allow emergency vehicle access.

Benefits

The expanded parking areas will accommodate a growing student, faculty and staff population at the College.  Better pedestrian access between the northern and central areas of campus will improve the safety and experience of foot travel.
