Lilienthal, right presents San Mateo Foundation check for $1000 to Dr. Julio L. Bortolazzo, second from left, College of San Mateo president. Ceremony marked initial contribution toward paying tutors for special CSM summer program to prepare disadvantaged students for college work. Looking on are Eric Gattmann, CSM summer session coordinator, and Mrs. Arthur Wall, executive director of the new community foundation, created to accept and administer gifts from local residents for health, welfare, educational and cultural purposes. Lilienthal is chairman of foundation's distribution committee." 1960's
