At San Mateo County Community College District everyone is responsible for sustainability! The District Sustainability initiative helps institutionalize sustainability by supporting campus sustainability efforts, through aligned program development, and highlighting the valuable sustainability work of staff, faculty and students - our greatest renewable resource.

SMCCCD has been a leader in sustainability for over a decade and was nationally recognized in 2014. As an integral part of a community that has set aside nearly 75% of its land as open space, it’s no surprise that our Colts, Bulldogs and Trojans are excited about protecting the environment and creating a sustainable tomorrow in San Mateo County and beyond.
