Courses and Programswaterauditone
Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College each offer courses and programs that are specific to environmental science or are a major theme of a course.  Visit the WebSchedule homepage to search for classes at the three campuses.  Cañada College also offers a Sustainability General Pathways Program for students to engage students with sustainability in a series of courses.

Campus as a Living Lab
In addition, environmental sustainability is interdisciplinary in nature and the District-wide and Campus Sustainability Committees prioritize utilizing innovative educational techniques to integrate sustainability into curriculum.  SMCCCD Facilities Planning, Maintenance, and Operations Department has partnered with faculty and staff to use the campus as a living lab.  Campus as a living lab activities provide hands on experience to students while providing operational efficiency to Facilities.   Previous campus as a living lab activities have included: Cañada College and College of San Mateo indoor water audit and a College of San Mateo plant identification study.  Future campus as living lab activities are in the works.  If you would like to coordinate a campus as living lab activity in a course, please reach out to the Sustainability team.

Internships
SMCCCD Facilities is also host to Energize Colleges internships, in which paid student interns focus on semester-long projects on the topics of resource conservation and campus engagement.  This initiative was launched by Skyline College in partnership with PG&E and Strategic Energy Innovations.
