Hi everybody – our Electrical Upgrade Project is progressing nicely and in order to get some high power (12kV) electrical preparation work completed, a power shutdown to Building 2 and Building 5  is necessary.   We asked Hensel Phelps Construction and Decker Electric to schedule the power shut down on Sunday so as to minimize any impacts to campus operations from those two buildings.

Building 2 and Building 5 will be without power on Sunday, March 7, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  (total outage = 10 hours).   Building 2 and Building 5 are the only buildings that will be affected by this power outage.    
Intrusion alarms in Building 2 and Building 5 will likely go off and alarm monitoring companies should be notified in advance about the planned outage. 
We will have Engineering staff on campus supporting this outage and restoring power to both buildings soon after the completion of Hensel Phelps’ and Decker Electric’s work.
