Description	Scholarship award. Caption, from John Hubbard, dated March 11, 1966, reads "FIRST WINNER OF NEW SCHOLARSHIP -- Linda Eldred, left, 18 year-old student from Pacifica, receives first award check in new scholarship program of Medical Assisting Society of San Mateo County to aid deserving young women majoring in medical assisting at College of San Mateo. Making presentation is Mrs. Sunny Dunn, the society's educational committee chairman. Two $100 awards will be presented each year by the organization. Miss Eldred, who lives at 1224 De Solo Dr., is being trained at the college to help fill area's need for qualified assistants in medical offices, clinics and hospitals. Medical assisting major was added to the CSM curriculum last month. It is one of the college's many two-year career preparation programs." 1960's
