Patrons award. Caption, from John Hubbard and dated February 25, 1965, reads "SAN MATEO MOTHER WINS AWARD -- Mrs. Reinhold Schmidt, center of 208 S. Norfolk St., San Mateo, receives honorary life membership at Founder's Day program of College of San Mateo Patrons Association, affiliated with 17th PTA District. Presenting the award is Mrs. Jack Howell, left, the association's honorary life membership chairman, while Mrs. M.A. Dobrinen, who planned the annual program, pins on a congratulatory corsage. Both Mrs. Howell and Mrs. Dobrinen are also San Mateo residents. Mrs. Schmidt was selected for the honor on the basis of long service to PTA units and volunteer community work. She has a son who is attending University of California after having been graduated from College of San Mateo, and a daughter at San Mateo High School. She has been active in the Patrons for four years and continues to serve in hospitality roles for the association, despite the fact that her son no loonger is a student at the college. In addition, she is currently serving as auditor for San Mateo High PTA."
