How to Log in to Library OneSearch and Online library resources

Your mySMCCD Portal is connected to your college library accounts. Logging into your library OneSearch account or for access to online library resources is the same as logging into your mySMCCD Portal and uses the same credentials.

Log in to OneSearch

There are two ways to login to your library OneSearch account as a currently enrolled student.

Option 1: Direct login from any Library OneSearch page

  1. Go to your library website, and search with OneSearch.

You may also visit your college library OneSearch site directly.

  2. Look for the "Sign in" links available throughout the OneSearch site
    • Use the "Sign in" button at the top right side of landing pages
    • Use the "Sign In" banner at the top of a list of search results
    • Sign in on the "Get It" banner from a physical item details page, when you want to request a book or other item for pickup at your library
  3. Choose your login method--Current students and employees should use "SMCCD Students, Faculty, & Staff" single sign on option. Do not choose the "Community Members" sign in option.
  4. Enter your college username and password credentials when prompted (same as for Canvas)

Option 2: Choose your campus Library OneSearch app icon in mySMCCD Portal

  1. Login to the mySMCCD Portal with your username and password credentials (same as for Canvas)
  2. Search "mySMCCD: All Portal Apps" for OneSearch
  3. Select your college library's OneSearch app--you will be signed in to OneSearch once you click through

To verify you are signed in, look for your name at the top right of the OneSearch webpage. Click through on your name to view account details such as loans, requests, and fees.

Contact your library with any questions about your library account.

Not a current student or employee, and need to login to your Library OneSearch account? Get login help on CSM's SMCCCD OneSearch Users Guide, or contact your college library. Any former student or alumni can sign up for a OneSearch account or have their OneSearch account updated to be a "Community Member" account. Contact your library for help with this.

Log in to access online library resources

Current students must sign in to EZProxy or another Library Authentication App for access to licensed online library resources. Follow sign in prompts to enter your username and password.

Many online library resources are available only to current students and employees at your college campus. Your campus library pays publishers and content providers for licenses that allow you to freely have access while you are a currently enrolled student.

To access licensed online library resources you will be required to login with your college credentials. Most often this is required when you are off campus only, although there are exceptions when you must also log in from on campus. Login is typically through the EZProxy service, though it may also be through another library application.

Other library online content is openly available to anyone and does not require login.

Contact your library for details about which online library resources require login, or to find alternatives that do not require login. Contact support if you are a current student having trouble logging in to the EZProxy app.
