We will be replacing the four water valves located at the NE corner of Bldg #8. The area will be fenced off, but heavy equipment will be operating in the area for excavation of a 20’ x 20’ hole. Access around the outside of the fenced area will be available. If our excavation requires closing the Fire Lane for any period of time, access will be routed through the ground floor doors at the SW corner of Bldg # 13. ADA bathrooms are also available at this location.
This Work will require shut down of the domestic water and gas to building 2, 5, 6, & 8,13 and 16. Restroom in these building will closed until water is restored. Please use restrooms in building 3 and 9. The Hot Water will be shut off to the entire Campus while the gas line repairs are underway, because the pilot lights for the boilers are on the same gas supply line. We expect this to occur on 8-5-08 only. We are sorry for any inconvenience we are causing you, but these valves are 40 years old and need to be replaced.
Fence barriers and other safety measures will be in place to separate pedestrians and from construction equipment to minimize disruption to the campus.
