Hello everyone. Construction of our new Building 11 (Automotive Transmission Facility) is moving along nicely and there is still a little bit of underground site utility work yet to be done. Hensel Phelps Construction, the general contractor for Building 11, will need to make some underground electrical connections. In order to do so, they will have trench through what remains of our Staff Parking Lot 1.
The photo illustrates how all staff, disabled, drop-off, RediWheels, visitor and motorcycle parking spaces will be closed off in the parking lot. Staff who are working this Friday will have to park in the staff spaces in Parking Lot 9.
On Friday, July 10, - all parking spaces that remain in Staff Parking Lot 1 will not be available for parking. Swinerton and Hensel Phelps Construction will make sure Parking Lot 1 is cordoned off late Thursday evening to preclude any vehicles from parking in the area.
Questions concerning parking and traffic concerns should be directed to Lori Adrian at adrianl@smccd.edu or Brian Tupper at tupperb@smccd.edu.
Questions about the construction of our new Building 11 and the impacts the Hensel Phelps construction will have in this quadrant of the campus can be directed to Zak Conway, Swinerton Project Manager, at conwayz@smccd.edu or ext 7042; or Mony Thach at thachm@smccd.edu or ext 7053.
Please, please be careful due to all the construction on campus – it’s everywhere now! I apologize for this temporary inconvenience. Thanks -
