Hi everyone – me again -
During our Winter Break there will be maintenance done to the existing forested areas throughout the campus - both within the campus interior and around the perimeter Loop Road.
This Capitol Improvement Project will involve the pruning, thinning and shaping of trees, as well as the removal of some diseased or structurally unsound trees. This forest maintenance has been carefully planned by the District’s Construction Planning Department, who have worked closely with noted Bay Area landscape architect David Gates and Associates, as well as an arborist to establish the scope of work.
The forest maintenance will enhance the beauty of the Skyline College campus and contribute to the continuing health of the forest. All work done adjacent to occupied pedestrian or vehicular areas will be protected during the course of the work. This tree maintenance work will begin this weekend, December 19 and continue through January 18.
If you have questions, you can contact the Skyline Swinerton Construction Manager, Jack Herbert at ext 7037, herbertj@smccd.edu; or the Skyline Construction Planning Department Project Manager, Glenn Claycomb at ext 7062, claycombg@smccd.edu.
Thanks and Happy Holiday!
Richard
