Hi everyone – construction will be getting underway to create a new electrical load center that serves our Buildings, 7, 8, 9 , 10, and 11. The existing Load Center #2 was constructed with the original campus in an underground vault between Building 1 and Building 8. For years now, we have been wanting to get it above-ground and protected from water infiltration during heavy rains. BNB Electrical will be the contractor to make this happen for us.
The construction period will begin today, July 11 and last through mid-January 2012.
Impacts to the campus -
- Most of the direct impacts will be to our Auto Dept and close coordination will be continuous throughout the construction period.
- The pedestrian pathway between Building 1 and Building 8 will be closed.
- Building 8’s entrance that faces Vista Point will be the only way to get to the upper quad from Parking Lots F & G.
- The stairway will be open that leads to the 3rd floor of Building 1 from the Auto Dept area.
