The SMCCCD Faculty Diversity Internship Program (FDIP) is approved by the SMCCCD Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Committee. In partnership and collaboration with District Academic Senate, FDIP promotes the Board of Trustees' Affirmation of Commitment to Social Justice. FDIP aligns with the SMCCCD commitment to social justice, equity, and diversity with the firm belief that such a commitment advances the interests of college constituencies and the communities we serve.

FDIP introduces participants to the community college environment and to the rich diversity of students attending the district colleges--Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College. FDIP recruits interns in support of a wide range of community college disciplines (and especially for those disciplines for which there is an anticipated shortage of qualified faculty). FDIP enhances community college efforts toward building a diverse and representative faculty (Title 5, §53501).

The SMCCCD FDIP provides participants the following opportunities:

1. Mentorship

2. Collaborative Teaching

3. FDIP Workshops/Professional Development

4. Community College Networking
