Fire Emergency Checklist

Activate the building fire alarm (if not activated)
Dial 9-1-1 and call (650)738-7000 (DPSD)
- Building Name/Number, Campus
- Specific location of fire in builidng (if known)
- Special hazards involved (if known
Take supression action (if safe)
- Small Incipent fires only
- Retrieve the nearest portable fire extinguisher

P- pull the pin

A- aim the nozzle at the base of the flame

S- squeeze the handle to activate

S- sweep the nozzle from side to side

Evacuate the builidng
- Facilitate orderly movement of occupants out of builidng
- Direct evacuees to designated assembly areas
- Direct emergency personnel to the fire location
- Maintain communication with DPSD via radio
