Get Prepared
Ensuring the safety and security of your family is of utmost importance. In the event of a disaster, public employees may be required to fulfill their duties, but every effort will be made to prioritize their ability to check on their families and confirm their well-being first.
To proactively prepare and minimize the impact of hazards on your family and yourself, it is strongly recommended that employees take some basic steps in advance. By taking these proactive measures, you can enhance your family's readiness and resilience in the face of potential disasters, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Choose a meeting place and have a discussion about what to expect during an emergency
Develop an emergency plan with your family that outlines what each family member should expect and do in the event of an emergency. You can use these checklists to help you prepare. Additionally, choose a meeting place near your residence, and one away from campus, in case you are separated from your friends, family, or roommates.
