Districtwide Project Summary
In 2001 the San Mateo County Community College District commissioned a facilities master planning process to assess the current condition of the physical environment, identify the repair/renovation and new construction projects required to support the current and future instructional needs of the college district. The outcome of that planning process generated several Educational Facilities Master Plans in 2006, 2011, 2015, and 2022. There also have been several phases of capital improvement programs (CIP1 to CIP3) implemented that directly addressed the most urgent needs identified in the Educational Facilities Master Plans, in support of the college district's Strategic Plan.
In October 2025, the college district published the 2025 Facilities Master Plan Amendment (FMPA) , The amended plan builds upon the 2022 Facilities Master Plan and reflects post-pandemic learning trends, updated enrollment projections, and new State guidelines. It also reaffirms key projects while identifying emerging needs in housing, modernization, and space optimization.
