Welcome to the San Mateo County Community College District Public Safety Department website. The three colleges in our District (Cañada College, College of San Mateo and Skyline College) serve more than 26,000 students. We are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff and community members that supports and enhances the educational mission of the colleges.

Anonymous Health and Safety/Incident Reporting

If you wish to report an incident or concern anonymously, you may do so by completing the Anonymous Incident Reporting Form below. Please be as descriptive and detailed as possible. Rest assured you are submitting information completely anonymously and the Public Safety Department will investigate the information you provide.

Report Behavior of Concern

Find forms and contact information to report behaviors of concern, for example, distressed behavior where you are concerned for a student.

Parking

Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis in the San Mateo County Community College District except for specific spaces reserved for visitors, staff and the disabled. The District provides parking on its facilities but accepts no liability for vandalism, theft, or accident.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging

Parking in District Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations is limited exclusively to electric vehicles that are actively charging with a maximum time limit of 4 hours per vehicle. Electric vehicles do not require a parking permit while parked in a charging station and while actively charging.

Lost and Found

All found items should be turned in to the Department of Public Safety office as soon as practicable. Officers are available to pick up found property if necessary.

Reporting

Annual Campus Crime Report

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires all colleges and universities that participate in federal financial aid programs to keep and disclose information about crime on and near their respective campuses.

Campus Security Authorities

A CSA is a person referred to as a campus security authority by the Clery Act. CSA's are a vital part of data collection for the annual safety and security report.

District Managers' Health and Safety Committee

The purpose of the District Managers Health and Safety Committee is to bring together a selected group of supervisors, administrators and managers that carry a related expertise in their respective positions with the purpose of evaluating, monitoring and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
