Mobile Text (SMS) Password Reset Setup
In order to reset your password with an Mobile Text Short Message Service (SMS) code, you need to set up 2-Factor Authentication in your mySMCCD Portal. Here are the steps to set up SMS multi-factor authentication.
Step 1: Login to mySMCCD Portal
Step 2: Go to Profile
Step 3: Update Mobile Phone number
Enter SMS capable mobile phone number and click Save Changes button to save.
Step 4: Choose Security Factors side menu and add factor
Click "Security Factors" on the left menu and click Add Factor button.
Step 5: Choose OneLogin SMS
Step 6: Enter Confirmation Code and click Continue
After successfully entering your confirmation code, you will see the following screen, showing that OneLogin SMS is set up.
Step 1: Login to mySMCCD Portal login page
Step 2: Go to Profile
Step 3: Update Mobile number
Click Update Phone number link
Enter SMS capable mobile phone number and click Save button to save.
Step 4: Add Device for 2-factor Authentication
Click "+" Sign to Add device
Step 5: Choose OneLogin SMS from Choose Vendor options dropdown
Step 6: Click Send Security Code to Mobile link
Step 7: Enter the code from your SMS text message and click Continue button
Step 8: Confirm OneLogin SMS is set as your 2-factor authentication method
If you see OneLogin SMS under your 2-Factor Authentication methods, you have completed the set up, and are ready to use it to reset your Password with an SMS text message code.
